Color Throwdown 481-How've You Bean?

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Amy Rysavy is our hostess this week with a pretty color combination--elight purple, dark purple, off-white/beige, and brown.  I combined the colors with the current challenge at Sunday Stamps to create my coffee themed design.

How've You Bean card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite ThingsI knew I didn't have many purple patterned papers (try saying that three times fast!) in my stash, but I managed to find some old Papertrey Ink papers in shades of purples.  After settling on this simple pattern, I cut a panel and matted it with chocolate brown, then adhered the patterned piece to a deep purple cardstock panel.  I adhered a pale purple cardstock strip, edged with a narrow chocolate brown cardstock strip and some feminine lace and wrapped with cream twine, across the darker panel.  I stamped a pair of to go coffee cups from the My Favorite Things Coffee Date stamp set on scraps of cream cardstock and colored them with Copic markers, then cut the colored cups out with the matching dies.  The cups were adhered to the right side of the pale purple panel using foam tape.  I stamped the "how've you bean?" sentiment from MFT's Coffee Break set to the left of the cups in brown ink.  The finished panel was adhered to a pale purple card base.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine.  Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.  And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD481.  If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd481 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our February guestie Claire Apostoloff, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Allyson Anderson.
